PORT ST. LUCIE — As police continue investigating the March 14 shooting near Sportsman's Park that left a 25-year-old man dead, investigators Thursday released detailed descriptions of two witnesses they are trying to locate.
Port St. Lucie police have said Marcus Samuel died after an altercation with Terry McKeliver, a 22-year-old Fort Pierce resident with whom Samuel was playing basketball at Sportsman's Park.
The dispute continued into a parking lot across the street, where shots were fired before McKeliver and Jean Yves Toussaint, 20, fled in a vehicle. The driver, McKeliver, eventually stopped in Fort Pierce following a pursuit by St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office deputies. McKeliver and Toussaint, who was found with more than a dozen bags of marijuana, were arrested, but not in connection with the death.
