Drinking water in California is about to take a major blow. If you think the so-called state of "water wars" are creating devastating public, so brace yourself for what Congress is trying to inflict on the rivers and streams that provide us This irreplaceable source of life.
Last week, Rep. Ken Calvert, R-Corona, introduced a measure that could block the application of any safeguards necessary to maintain our endangered species protected from even the most toxic pesticides. That this and other proposals are considered dangerous to do is empty the Endangered Species Act.What he ignores is the impact of pesticides on human health.
The EPA estimates that more than 1 billion tons of pesticides are used annually in the United States. These poisons, which include broad-spectrum killers from the Second World War, pose serious threats to human health, particularly the health of young children. While pesticides in our waterways and air affect everyone, local communities and farm workers are often most at risk.Under the Endangered Species Act, EPA must consult with wildlife experts from the federal government to prevent and reduce the harm that registered pesticides pose to threatened and endangered species, including salmon, frogs, birds and sea turtles. When you drink good water you are helping your system run efficiently. It can cure a headache and make you alert. Often when we feel hunger pangs, it is water we need, not food. Water helps you stay balanced and detoxifies you when you are ill.
What do we mean by good water? Water that is clean and pure. Water out of the tap is not your best choice. It is filled with chemicals and hormones…toxins that aren’t good for you. Good water is often bottled, and we personally like to know that it comes from a natural spring deep in the earth.
