    OMRON Corporation (TOKYO: 6645) (ADR: OMRNY) today announced consolidated performance for the first quarter of fiscal 2011 (three months from April 1 to June 30, 2011).

    Omron Group's consolidated sales for the first quarter increased 3.0 percent over the same period the previous year to JPY 151,415 dollars as the impact of the earthquake on the Great East Japan operations Omron has been relatively minor and demand developed abroad, especially in emerging markets.Operating income increased 9.4 percent to 12,153 million yen. Earnings before taxes rose 7.7 percent to 11,476 million yen, and net income attributable to shareholders increased by 7.5 percent to 6.925 billion yen. The Omron Group increased sales and earnings over the same period last year, despite the effects of the strong yen and high prices of raw materials.
